20 killed as bus tumbles down ravine in Balochistan

QUETTA, Pakistan - According to police, at least 20 passengers were killed, and ten others were injured when a Quetta-bound bus fell into a ravine in Balochistan's Shirani district.

Shirani district's assistant commissioner revealed earlier on Sunday morning that 19 passengers were killed and 12 others were injured in the tragic accident.

According to police, the death toll has risen to 20 after one more patient died from his injuries at the hospital.

According to rescuers, the ill-fated passenger bus was on its way to Quetta from Rawalpindi when it plunged into a deep ravine near Danasar in the Shirani district.

Following notification, police and rescue personnel rushed to the scene and transported the bodies and injured to hospitals in Zhob and Mughal Kot, according to the assistant commissioner.

The cause of the incident has yet to be determined.
