DHAKA, Bangladesh - The Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) and the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) Wednesday to work together on the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Dr. Park Won Seok, President of KAERI, Dr. Md Azizul Haque, Chairman of BAEC, and Lee Jang-Keun, Ambassador of South Korea to Bangladesh, witnessed the ceremony.

According to the MOU, KAERI and BAEC will strengthen cooperation in peaceful atomic energy utilization, such as research reactor development, utilization, upgrade, radioisotope production and application, radiation technology development, neutron science, and nuclear/radioactive waste management.

South Korea anticipates that the signing of the MOU will provide significant momentum for the two agencies' existing collaboration to reach new heights.
