The 35-year-old Dong Yue was dispatched to the village to take on this responsibility from the hydraulic department of Zibo City in July, 2019. With no one in the family to help them take care of their daughter Yiyi, Dong Yue and his wife decided to take turns to look after the girl.

During the week of Dong Yue's turn, he always brings his daughter to the village and takes her everywhere he goes. In the day time, the girl accompanies her father to visit villagers and carry out all kinds of work. During the night, Dong Yue takes care of his daughter as carefully as a mother. A year has passed by, and Yiyi witnessed the construction of village roads and a cultural square, as well as other improvements under the lead of her father. For Dong Yue and Yiyi, life in the village was sometimes hard but always full and meaningful. It probably will become one of the most unforgettable memories in their lives. The quadruplet girls do homework at the door at home due to a power cut in Shangbao Village, Ganzhou City of east China's Jiangxi Province, May 25, 2016. Wu Nianyou, a farmer in Shangbao Village of Ganzhou City, and his wife saw their quadruplet daughters come to the world on a morning in September 2010. They named their daughters Wu Mengling, Wu Mengting, Wu Mengyun and Wu Mengqin, who became their worry to raise up with little income only from the fields. Being premature babies, the girls were in poor health conditions which needed lots of money to treat. With the help of the local government and society, the family overcame their difficulties in the hardest two years of their life. Basic living allowances were given to the girls and the couple were offered jobs near their home. Henhouse, duck shed and fish pool were built near their house by the local government as ways to increase their income, and a three-layer house was built in 2016 with the help of local policy. On Jan. 1, 2019, the family shook off poverty and now live a better life. (Xinhua/Wan Xiang)
