Hunt for Mumbai hotel killers crosses to Italy

Asia Pacific News.Net
Saturday 21st November, 2009

Italian authorities have arrested two Pakistanis suspected of helping provide support for last year's terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India.

The attacks, which resulted in the deaths of 166 people, occurred during a three-day assault on luxury hotels, a Jewish centre and other sites in Mubai.

Italian police have said the men arrested were identified after leads from the FBI in the US and India's intelligence organisations.

The two were caught after allegedly sending funds overseas while operating a money transfer business in the northern Italian town of Brescia.

They have been accused of transferring money to pay for the phone calls of people who had been in direct contact with suspected Mumbai attackers.
